The first Mama Shelter hotel in Asia is set to open in 4Q2025 on Killiney Road, located in the lively Somerset precinct and just off famous Orchard Road. This property will be the brand’s 20th hotel globally, following the successful debut of its flagship location in Paris in September 2008.
Expected to showcase Mama Shelter’s signature lobby with an open-plan restaurant and island bar, the hotel will also feature unique pet-friendly tables, arcade games, and a raised stage for live shows. The property will also house a rooftop bar, restaurant, and swimming pool, providing a variety of options for guests to enjoy.

According to Jérémie Trigano, co-founder of Mama Shelter along with his father Serge and brother Benjamin, the hotel will feature live music, DJs, and comedy shows for guests to enjoy. The Triganos aimed to redefine the hotel experience with their brand, placing a strong emphasis on their restaurant offerings. In fact, over half of Mama Shelter’s revenue comes from food and beverage sales.
The brand’s unique concept combines a vibrant open space anchored by a lively restaurant and bar, with menus created by top chefs and drinks crafted by leading mixologists. The Trigano family values inclusivity, welcoming guests of all ages and groups to their establishments.
In terms of location selection, the team at Mama Shelter prefers mixed-use, commercial-residential neighborhoods that draw a diverse crowd. They want their hotels to be game-changers and hotspots for both locals and travelers alike. This is reflected in their choice of the Killiney Road property for their first location in Asia.
Mama Shelter has seen continued success since its first opening in Paris in 2008, with new locations in Los Angeles, London, Dubai, and more. The brand aims to reach 50 locations globally in the coming years, with a focus on expanding to major destinations.
The Trigano family has formed a partnership with Accor, with their brand now part of Ennismore, a company that oversees a portfolio of 16 boutique hospitality brands. In 2022, Accor sold a stake in Ennismore to a Qatari consortium, valuing the company at over US$2.3 billion ($2.9 billion).
In addition to Mama Shelter, the Trigano family has also launched a new hotel concept called “Oh Baby” that will focus on affordable luxury and sustainability. The family has raised EUR220 million ($331 million) with Atream, a French real estate and private equity asset manager, to develop 15 Oh Baby hotels, with the first expected to open in 2021.
Serge and Jérémie Trigano have also launched Casa Barbara, a hospitality-driven senior living concept, with the first location opening in Nice in mid-2023 and the second in Molières-sur-Cèze, France in 2025. According to Serge, their mission is to bring happiness to people through game-changing hospitality, a mission that has been at the core of their family’s DNA since his father founded Club Med in 1950.
