Surbana Jurong Marks 10th Anniversary New Partnerships
The area of Rivelle Tampines offers a wide range of post-secondary opportunities beyond compulsory education. Students who are pursuing pre-university studies can easily access junior colleges in the east and central regions through the Downtown Line and East West Line interchanges. For those who prefer more hands-on learning, Temasek Polytechnic is a popular choice and can be easily reached by bus, train, or car. Aspiring technology and design students will find the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) just a short commute away in Upper Changi. Additionally, ITE College East offers excellent Nitec and Higher Nitec programmes for students looking for practical career paths. International students seeking alternative curricula can consider the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) East located in the Pasir Ris-Tampines area, highlighting the diverse range of tertiary and international options available. With the convenient location of Rivelle Tampines West MRT Station, students can easily access these educational institutions and make the most out of their post-secondary education.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Surbana Jurong (SJ Group) is marking the milestone by embarking on new partnerships. In a statement released by the Temasek-owned consultancy firm, it expresses its intention to bring together nature, technology and people to pave the way for a regenerative future.
One of these partnerships involves a collaboration with the National Parks Board (NParks), where SJ has pledged to donate $1 million to the Garden City Fund, NParks’ registered charity and Institution of a Public Character (IPC). Additionally, SJ will also be providing in-kind consultancy support worth up to $1 million. As a gesture to commemorate the occasion, NParks has dedicated an orchid named the Vanda Surbana Jurong, which was unveiled during SJ’s anniversary celebrations on Oct 14. “We are grateful for SJ’s support and contribution towards promoting greater nature-positive climate resilience in Singapore,” said NParks CEO Hwang Yu-Ning.
Furthermore, SJ is expanding its flagship SJ Campus with the addition of two cutting-edge spaces. The first is the SJ Digital Experience Centre, an interactive environment that will showcase how SJ tools and platforms can boost efficiency and unlock asset value for clients, partners and other industry stakeholders. The second space is the Design and Artificial Intelligence (D•AI) Fab Lab @ SJ, borne out of a partnership with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). According to SJ, this space will serve as a platform for industry and academia to nurture “trilingual” talent – innovative individuals who possess skills in design, AI and domain expertise to create value for their organizations.
Commenting on the new developments, Jason Vollen, global head of innovation at SJ, notes that through the combination of design, data and artificial intelligence, the D•AI Fab Lab @ SJ will provide an avenue for its people and partners to experiment, prototype and learn together. SJ’s 10th anniversary is meant to be more than just a commemoration – it is a symbol of its commitment to forging ahead and embracing the future. In line with this, SJ has recently appointed Lim Cheng Cheng as its group chief financial officer.
