Capitaland Investment Signs Mou Invest 283 Bil 2030 Data Centres Logistics And Industrial Parks

CapitaLand Investment (CLI) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Maharashtra Government in India, committing to invest $2.83 billion by 2030 to drive growth and development in Mumbai and Pune.
According to CLI, this strategic investment in Maharashtra is part of its overall growth plan for India, where it aims to increase its funds under management from $8 billion to $15 billion by 2028. These investments will be focused on business parks, data centers, logistics, and industrial parks.
Currently, CLI already has five operational business parks in Maharashtra with a total leasable area of 9.7 million square feet. The company also plans to add another 4.5 million square feet to its portfolio in the region.
One of CLI’s key investments in Maharashtra is through CapitaLand India Trust (CLINT), where it has invested in four business parks – ITPP-H, aVance Pune I & II, and Aurum Q Parc in Mumbai. The fifth business park, International Tech Park Pune, Kharadi, is held under CLI’s private fund, Ascendas India Growth Programme.
In addition, CLINT also has four data centers in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad, with a total power capacity of 244 megawatts (MW). Tower 1 of its data center in Mumbai with 54 MW capacity has been fully leased and operational, while Tower 2, also with a power capacity of 54 MW, is currently under development. Furthermore, CLINT has plans to develop three more data centers in the region.

The MOU signing was held at the launch of CLI’s first data center in India in Navi Mumbai on Aug 12. The event was graced by Singapore’s deputy prime minister and minister for trade and industry, Gan Kim Yong, the chief minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the chairman of CLINT, Maohar Khiatani, and CLI India’s CEO, Sanjeev Dasgupta, among others.
